Love is by Stephanie Dowrick

Love is earth.
Tend it.
Love is seed.
Water it.
Love is tender shoot.
Protect it.
Love is first leaf.
Celebrate it.
Love is air.
Breathe it.
Love is rain.
Receive it.
Love is waiting.
Contain it.
Love is bud.
Rejoice in it.
Love is flower then fruit.
Accept it.
Love is abundance.
Share it.
Love is dying down.
Understand it.
Love is returning.
Trust it.
Love is.

Silverbeet, our first seedlings!

Our first seedlings have sprouted, the Silverbeet (Silver White)! How exciting. Here is a photo for you. Silverbeet is like spinach, you eat the leaves and they are very yummy. And quite prolific too. The older ones in the garden seem to be doing ok in this very rainy winter that we are having. You can see my photos of the older ones (planted in summer) at the Randwick Community Organic Garden website click on 'What's happening'.

Well, this is our little plot. As you can see we've put down some compost over the top of the straw. On 30 April 2006 we planted Silverbeet (silver white), Silverbeet (Fordhook), salad burnett, Jade lettuce, rocket, and leeks.

On 4 June 2006 we planted English spinach, Thumbellina carrots and chick peas.

On 12 June 2006 we planted Cos lettuce verdi, broad beans, Silverbeet Fordhook, raddish and German chamomile.
